Each of us has a unique skin. But one problem that is common for a lot of us is the acne problem. It is such a universal problem that there are a plethora of options available for treatment – at the drugstore, at the dermatologist. But you do not have to go that far for a problem as small as acne even when it may seem a huge problem! Treating acne using simple, easy, and quick home remedies is very much possible!
Not only are these home remedies pure and most natural, but they are also easier on your wallet and more effective than the commercial treatments. Our skin does not always take commercial medications positively because they contain many chemicals. On the other end, we have an option to use homemade remedies and face masks for acne where we are in full control of the ingredients and can put what suits our skin best.
Applying Diluted Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV)
Apple cider vinegar contains organic acids that are effective against acne. It also helps with acne scars. ACV kills bacteria and cleans up excess oil on the skin. It has multiple uses.
Take one portion of ACV and mix it up with three parts of water. Take the solution on a cotton ball and dab it on your skin. Let it stay for about half a minute and wash it off gently after that. You can repeat this twice or thrice in a day.
(Note: If your skin starts burning, wash it off immediately with water)
Moisturising Affected Area With Aloe Vera Gel
Aloe vera gel is a natural ingredient that has abundant uses. One of its magical properties is that it is an excellent natural moisturizer. It also helps in soothing wounds and burns.
Wash your acne-affected skin with water and pat dry your skin. Then, gently apply it to the acne area directly. Repeat it twice a day or as desired.
You can also mix up a teaspoon of aloe vera gel and add a drop of tea tree oil to it and apply it as a mask. Tea tree oil is very effective against acne and pimples.
Honey + Turmeric + Garlic Facemask
Honey and turmeric have anti-bacterial, anti-viral properties and thus make perfect ingredients for this mask. Honey acts as a moisturizer and cleanses the skin naturally.
Take 4-6 garlic cloves, add a tiny amount of turmeric powder and 2-3 spoons of honey. After cleansing your face, apply the mix on the problem areas. Please keep it for 10 to 15 minutes and wash it off. You can use cinnamon instead of garlic for this mask.
Home Remedies: Yogurt Facemask
The lactic acid in yogurt has anti-bacterial properties and makes it a perfect natural cleanser for our skin. This mask improves skin condition.
Apply a thin layer of low-fat yogurt on your face and let it dry. After it dries up, wash it off with water and pat dry your skin. You can also mix up oatmeal (without sugar) with the yogurt as it helps in gentle exfoliation.
(Note: Full fat yogurt will make your skin greasy, so do not use it for this mask on acne-prone skin.)
Home Remedies For Preventing Acne –
Everyone dislikes dealing with acne. So, avoiding it and taking preventive measures makes sense.
- Cleanse your skin at least twice every day with a gentle cleanser. Avoid scrubbing on your skin harshly and pat dry with a clean towel after wash.
- Our bedsheets and pillowcases are breeding grounds for bacteria that can cause pimple and acne. Change bed sheets and pillow covers and wash them regularly.
- Realize what does not work for your skin and avoid foods that react with your skin, and you are allergic to it.
- Do not pop your pimples. Please keep away from the acne area of your skin and do not touch the affected area or apply any chemical containing solution on it. It may take time, but it will go away.
